Repairs and Setups

Eastgate Music offers a full range of services to musical instruments and equipment. Our in-house staff (luthiers) are experienced in the maintenance, repairs and ‘setup’ of musical instruments including all guitars, banjos, mandolins, violins, violas, cellos and double bass as well as brass and woodwind.

Please ask for a no obligation quote on anything from re-strings to fret dressing, pick up installation, guitar set-ups, neck re-sets, fixing cracks/splits in classical instruments, shooting fingerboards, sound post re-sets, new bridges, peg service, bow re-hairs and everything in between.

We also handle amplifier service and repairs, with tube amps our specialty.

Our reputation for service that is prompt, high on quality and low on price is legendary.

 

 

Parts, Parts, Parts

A good repair outlet is only as good as its supply of spare parts.

Eastgate Music stocks a great range of spare parts for most instruments and amplifiers.

If you are looking for that hard to find pickup (all instruments), string, nut, saddle, bridge pin, pickguard, machine head, strap lock, vacuum tube, knob, switch, vinyl, grill cloth, speaker, tremolo arm, potentiometer, cleaning/lubricating solutions, rosin, fine tuner, tail piece, tuning peg, mute, bow etc, etc: we will probably have it in stock!

And if we don’t have it…we can usually get it in for you.

   

Rentals

Have you thought of renting before you buy? Our sister business, The Melbourne String Company, offers a range of orchestral instruments for hire at very reasonable rates.

Violins, violas, cellos (including fractional sizes), classical guitars, flutes, clarinets and other brass and woodwind instruments (etc.). Give us a call on 03 9886077.

 

Layby and GE CreditLine

Most items we have in the shop (except for things on Sale) can be put on layby for up to three months, without penalty. If you prefer to “take it now” and pay later we can organise easy payment plans up to 24 months, interest free! (conditions apply).
